This week's recipe is one that I clipped from a newspaper when I was a teenager--oh, so many years ago! I've always loved cooking, and this is one of my oldest recipes. Everyone who has eaten these spareribs have remarked how good they are. I make mashed potatoes with this meal, and use the sauce on the potatoes. A tossed salad completes the meal. Enjoy. Oven-Barbequed Spareribs 2 pounds meaty pork spareribs (country style) 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 tablespoon hot oil 2 tablespoons brown sugar 4 tablespoons lemon juice 1 cup catsup 1 cup tomato juice 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 2 tablespoons vinegar 1 tablespoon mustard 1 teaspoon salt Dash of pepper 1/8 teaspoon chili powder Brown onion in hot oil. Add remainaing ingredients, except spareribs, and simmer 15 minutes. Place spareribs in casserole, pour sauce over, and cover. Bake for 2 hours at 350 degrees or until tender. Baste ribs with sauce occasionally. Serves 4.
